The
Good Neighbor Community Center provides basic needs to over 35,000 low-income
individuals a year. Each client is personally welcomed through an individual
interview and encouraged to participate in the following programs.
Please note that clients need to bring some documents and make appointments
to some of the programs.
Shopping Floor:
After meeting with an interviewer and completing the
needs assessment, each client may shop for clothing and household goods
at no cost.
Clients can shop for clothes every 60 days for each member of the family. We
encourage clients to bring some proof of income and expenses every
time they come in to update our database.
NOTE: Appointment needed before one can come in to shop. Call us
at 9am on Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri and 10am on Thurs to set up an appointment. We also do not call back
so make sure you get someone on the phone to be able to come in.
Food Programs:
Perishables:
Each Monday and Wednesday, the GNCC distributes food provided
by local stores and the Food Bank of Lincoln between 10am-12pm.
No appointment is needed to come in for perishables.

Every Sunday at 3pm-4pm, Allon Chapel Seventh-Day Adventist Church will be hosting Food Net at the center. No appointment or client ID needed.
Non-Perishables:
The GNCC distributes food from the city wide Lincoln Pantry
System. The GNCC also distributes food for boxes made from donations
received
from the community.
Clients can receive food every 30 days.
NOTE: Appointment needed before one can come in for a pantry. Call
us at 9am to set up an appointment. We do not call back
so

Grandparents Room:
Grandparents are invited to shop every other year for their grandchildren
during the holiday season. Grandchildren must be 12 years old or
younger. GNCC posts the sign up dates for this and grandparents
need to bring in social security cards for their grandchildren to receive
their gifts.
MOMS:
Mothers Offering Moms Support (MOMS) is a caring support group for mothers. It
teaches skills and gives confidence to the moms. The group works on crafts, cooking
and parenting skills. MOMS meets the first and third Thursdays of the month during
the school year. Every mother is welcome and babysitting is provided.
